About Singapore

SG_1.avif

Welcome to Singapore — a vibrant island-city where tradition meets innovation. From gleaming skyscrapers to historic neighbourhoods, Singapore captivates with its unique blend of cultures, futuristic architecture, and rich heritage. Sitting strategically at the heart of Southeast Asia, the city-state serves as a dynamic hub where people, ideas and cosmopolitan experiences converge.

Weather

Singapore enjoys an equatorial climate, with warm days around 31 °C (88 °F) and balmy evenings near 24 °C (75 °F). Humidity can rise to 60% or more in the afternoon and you might experience sudden tropical showers — so pack light, breathable fabrics and a compact umbrella. Indoor air-conditioning tends to be brisk, so a light cardigan can come in handy.

Time Zone

The local time zone is UTC +8 and Singapore does not observe daylight saving time.

Power Voltage

Standard voltage across outlets is 220-240 V AC, 50 Hz frequency, with Type G three-pin sockets. Most hotels gladly provide adapters or converters if needed.

Language

English, Mandarin, Malay and Tamil are Singapore’s four official languages, but English is the primary language of business, administration and everyday communication — making orientation easy for international visitors.
