Message from Organising Chairs
Dear Esteemed Colleagues
Welcome to the 16th ISUOG Approved Course. We are delighted to be able to organise this meeting, having had to take an enforced break in 2020 owing to the COVID-19 pandemic. As the pandemic is continuing, with many countries now facing new waves of infection, the meeting will be held virtually.
As the saying goes, necessity is the mother of invention. While we miss face to face conferences and all the intangible benefits that they bring, we have also learnt from the past year the numerous advantages that virtual meetings have, not least the ability to reach out to a wider audience.
We want this meeting to be one which adds value by engaging the course delegate in active learning. We are all too aware of the challenges of following meetings on Zoom and other virtual platforms, so our programme will be a deliberate departure from the usual litany of didactic lectures.
The 16th ISUOG Approved course will be held over 3 days, comprising 6 Teaching Sessions, each focusing on one to three specific topics. Each session will begin with talks given by our invited experts, followed immediately by an interactive case discussion (Interactive Learning) based on the topic in question. These cases are curated from the Antenatal Diagnostic Centre, Maternal Fetal Department, KK Women’s and Children’s hospital which sees many challenging cases on a daily basis. Voting and polling facilities will be deployed to enable audience response in the course of the case presentations, as well as questions and answers discussions with an expert panel to ensure an interactive experience for all.
We are very grateful to our invited international speakers Prof Yves Ville, Prof Laurent Salomon, Prof Jon Hyett, Prof Dario Paladini, Prof Gustavo Malinger, Prof Shih Jin Chung and Prof Liona Poon for generously finding time in their extremely busy schedules to accommodate this course and sharing their expertise. This distinguished faculty and the line-up of interesting clinical cases will make for a truly vibrant meeting.
We are also happy to be able to make registration for the course complimentary and we look forward to meeting all of you virtually during the course in January 2022.
Thank you for your participation and stay safe!
