We are delighted to announce the 20th Joint SingHealth Course on Ultrasound in Obstetrics & Gynaecology and COGS Scientific Meeting, incorporating the 12th SingHealth Maternal Medicine Course, taking place in May 2026.

 

This year marks a significant milestone—our 20th ISUOG-approved course in Singapore, following 19 highly successful editions that have drawn enthusiastic participation from clinicians across the region.

 

With the theme “Optimising Fetomaternal Care: From Diagnosis to Delivery,” the 2026 congress will bring together an outstanding line-up of internationally renowned faculty, including Professors Gustavo Malinger, Yves Ville, Dario Paladini, Jonathan Hyett, Liona Poon, Ken Hodson, Jacky Nizard, Gerald Tulzer, and other leading experts in maternal–fetal medicine and high-risk obstetrics.

 

The scientific programme will feature keynote lectures, interactive case discussions, and live ultrasound demonstrations, offering participants a rich and immersive learning experience designed to strengthen both clinical knowledge and practical skills.

Topic: Improving Infant Health Through Strengthening Gut Health

Synopsis:

Infant health does not start from birth but from maternal wellbeing. Before conception and the prenatal period is as important in determining the outcome of the child. Maternal nutrition, state of health, mental wellbeing and use of medications all have an impact on the offspring.

​

The talk will cover the factors that impact on the gut microbiome of the infant, both antenatally and postnatally. The possible strategies available that may help to improve gut health and ultimately infant health if breastfeeding is not possible.

​

Focusing on the digestive and immunological functions of the gut and it’s impact on child health. From the digestive aspect, the emphasis is on the makeup of the formula to give better stooling. From the immunologic aspect, emphasis is the impact on the microbiome to reduce infections and improve development.
